I keep my blog as a personal record of what I'm up to, which might be seen as working towards "An elegant sufficiency, content, retirement, rural quiet, friendship, books, ease and alternate labour, useful life"

I'm certainly not there yet.  There is quite some way to go!

There it was…

This morning, standing tall and looking pretty even after three weeks.  But the time had come to say goodbye to Christmas and so this afternoon, within an hour or so, the scene was rather different.

We had only to look at it, it seemed, for needles to fall by the hundred.

We shall down the decs. on the morning of the 6th all to be packed away ( well I usually manage to forget at least one ornament), and our village has the annual 'galette des rois' with wine in our Grande Salle du Chateau, ie village hall, on the Sunday afternoon. The public lights will no longer blaze away but the strings and flexes will be there for ages! Onwards to next year!

I am not holding out for three wise men turning up on the 6th - my decorations are coming down today.
