Scafell
Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 7:00AM We reached the car park at 3.25am, having driven through rain for most of the way to the border and along some narrow and windy roads in the approach to Wasdale. No phone or walkie talkie reception here, so we're simply waiting for sight of them.
No photos - you really should be thankful for that!
Update - they arrived safely back at about 8am, slightly later than planned but with mist and other local difficulties proving too much for several groups, we were simply glad to see them back.
The challenge continues - we are now en route to Snowdon, hoping to arrive around 1pm.
Safely down
Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 9:22PM At 9pm, after a very slippery descent, all are safe and sound. Next stop, Scafell. Hope to be there around 4am.
They're off

They couldn't wait till 4pm so at 3.55 off they went in beautiful sunshine. It's now raining hard but we've heard they're making good progress and should be at the summit soon (7pm, on schedule)
