I keep my blog as a personal record of what I'm up to, which might be seen as working towards "An elegant sufficiency, content, retirement, rural quiet, friendship, books, ease and alternate labour, useful life"

I'm certainly not there yet.  There is quite some way to go!

Scafell

We reached the car park at 3.25am, having driven through rain for most of the way to the border and along some narrow and windy roads in the approach to Wasdale. No phone or walkie talkie reception here, so we're simply waiting for sight of them.

No photos - you really should be thankful for that!

Update - they arrived safely back at about 8am, slightly later than planned but with mist and other local difficulties proving too much for several groups, we were simply glad to see them back.

The challenge continues - we are now en route to Snowdon, hoping to arrive around 1pm.

Wasdale is my favourite place in the Lakes - used to visit a lot when I worked at Sellafield.

Well done to everyone on the challenge!
