I keep my blog as a personal record of what I'm up to, which might be seen as working towards "An elegant sufficiency, content, retirement, rural quiet, friendship, books, ease and alternate labour, useful life"

I'm certainly not there yet.  There is quite some way to go!

Back to school

3 Tranby 1970

Yesterday morning, there I was in the bathroom with Radio 3 playing one minute and the next, I was back at school.  More accurately, I was standing in morning assembly listening to my music teacher and virtuoso organist play the most thrilling and memorable piece as the headmaster made his entrance.

Picture the scene.

Not only did I stop and listen to the whole piece on the radio, I came straight downstairs and played it over again on Spotify.  Magic!

Well, I'll go to the foot of our stairs! Here I am, nothing new on email, still a tad early to get out the hoover, thought I'd try your blog. And there you are . . . a pupil at Kingston High School! In my liaison role for Hull College I became a governor of Kingston High School and later, when I left the College and took up lion taming (back-to-roots teaching) I joined the newly-named Pickering High School as a Life Skills Teacher (sex education a la Joyce Grenfell). Very small world.
