Safely down

At 9pm, after a very slippery descent, all are safe and sound. Next stop, Scafell. Hope to be there around 4am.

I'm certainly not there yet. There is quite some way to go!
At 9pm, after a very slippery descent, all are safe and sound. Next stop, Scafell. Hope to be there around 4am.
They couldn't wait till 4pm so at 3.55 off they went in beautiful sunshine. It's now raining hard but we've heard they're making good progress and should be at the summit soon (7pm, on schedule)
The weather is fantastic but the walkers won't begin their challenge till 4pm so today is a day of hanging around and time to test communications.
It wasn't as arduous a journey as we feared. The traffic was ok and only one, short detour was needed but even so there was a loud cheer when the Fort William sign was spotted.
David and Erika's wedding anniversary today, so we're going out for dinner to celebrate.
The real 'fun' starts tomorrow!
